Sooo... it's been a while. Quite a long while, actually. Several years, to be exact.
I just wanted to take a moment to explain my absence from this wonderful community that I used to be such an active part of. Don't worry: nothing bad or shocking has happened to me; I'm (relatively) happy and healthy, and things are going well. The only thing that's sorely missing from my life, and has been missing for a long time, is creative inspiration. This is partly due to the fact that I'm busy with work and often don't have time or energy to draw, but the main cause is my perfectionism, which slowly started getting in the way back when drawing was still my biggest hobby. I just wanted my drawings to be 100% perfect, looking exactly like the reference picture I was using, but of course I would always discover flaws in my work. This ended up sucking all the fun out of the process and making it more stressful than relaxing. So at some point, in the middle of working on an incredibly detailed A3-sized drawing, I decided to take a break and maybe try out some new styles and media. However, I never got around to doing that, and, some doodling aside, I haven't drawn in all that time. I miss it, miss having something that I was good at, and I would love to start a new project, but I'm afraid it'll end in tears because, basically, it can never be good enough.
If anyone reading this happens to have had the same experience, I would love to hear from you. Maybe you guys can give me some tips or advice on how to get my mojo back.

Hello, my dear friends! Remember me? I'm the girl who used to post a new drawing every once in a while. Yes, the one from the Netherlands.
I can hardly believe that it's been six months since I finished my last project. Where has time gone? People who follow me on Facebook (Artwork by Suanin) know that I started working on a new drawing in February, but after I had spent about 60 hours on it (quite pleased with the way it was turning out, actually), I got stuck and I could no longer motivate myself to continue. That was a couple of months ago, and I haven't drawn again since. I am really starting to miss it and now that I have a week off from work, I might try to come up with a less ambitious project, something that I can actually finish (in less than a year, preferably ) without losing interest along the way. That doesn't mean I will never finish the other drawing - on the contrary: I am still pleased with the outcome so far and it would be a terrible waste to let it gather dust as a permanent WIP. I just need to, y'know, aim a little less high right now.
That's it, really; I just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive and, slowly but surely, crawling out into the sunlight again.
